Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions when it comes to our computer repair services and remote support. If you do not see the information you are looking for below, contact us with your inquiry. We are here to help!

Do you offer a FREE diagnostic/estimate?

Yes, we offer a free 5-10 minute diagnostic over the phone or at our shop when you contact us about your computer, laptop, tablet, or phone. If further diagnostic testing is required or the unit requires a lot of disassembly, the cost is $40-$65, even if you decline the repair after the estimate.

NOTE: Unfortunately, taking advantage of the time and effort required for technicians to sort out more complicated technical issues is common in our industry. As a result, it does not make good business sense to spend an hour or more investigating an issue for free. Doing so leaves us with nothing to show for our efforts if a customer declines to fix the issue. Therefore, customers incur a cost for issues that take longer than 5-10 minutes to diagnose.

What is your pricing/how much do you charge?

Onsite is the most expensive service we offer. Most jobs with 1 issue take 1-2 hours at a cost of $85-125.

Drop off and remote support usually averages 1-2 hours with a cost of $70-$100.

Many projects are less than $100. If it’s a hardware problem, we quote you an additional cost.

I need the repair done as soon as possible for work/school; do you offer same day service?

We give you a free 5 minute estimate right away. Then, if we are busy and you want to jump to the front of the line (weekends excluded), the cost for priority service is $40 for residential and $60 businesses.

NOTE: While priority service moves you to the beginning of our queue, it does not guarantee that we complete the required work the same day. Rather, we complete the work as soon as possible. In most situations, though, we service your device within one business day.

What do you need if I drop off my system?

We do not need the monitor, mouse, keyboard, or power cord for your desktop; however, a power cord is necessary for all other devices. We also need the user login passwords.

How does remote support work?

Installing a remote client program on your system allows us to connect to the remote server that we run in our shop.

NOTE: We are not able to connect to your system anonymously. A pop-up appears when the connection is made, allowing you to see what we are doing. Our server only runs when we are working on a remote support job.

I accidentally deleted files I can’t lose; is it possible to recover them?

Yes, in most cases we can recover data; however, a data recovery expert is needed if the drive is having hardware issues. Stop using the computer/device immediately for the best results. The more you use the computer/device after deleting the files, the more difficult it will be to retrieve your data.

Liquid spilled on our tech device; are you able to get it working again?

We’ll do our best! Turn off the power immediately after the spill occurs because corrosion and oxidation will eat away at the components if you use the device. Remove the battery and then drain and clear out as much liquid as you can by tipping the device upside down. Use a fan to dry off as much liquid as possible and let it air dry. Small spills can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, while an ultrasonic cleaner is the way to go for big spills.

Do you carry parts in stock for purchase?

No, we do not have a retail storefront. We order all parts as we need them.

Do you have replacement screens in stock?

No, we order replacement screens when needed, which takes 3-4 business days for delivery. Rush shipping is available. For iPads, iPhones etc — each model has a unique screen. If your device is still usable, drop it off when the screen arrives, if you wish.

Do you buy electronics from customers that are looking to get rid of them?

No, we don’t buy equipment or operate a storefront. We recommend the Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist as good ways to sell your electronics, but watch out for low-ball offers. Do your research first!

Do you design & build websites?

Yes, with a qualified web designer who built our site. Logo & print design services are also offered.
